Aota (青田) is a minor antagonist in Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami. He is the leader of Blue Z.

Personality[]
Aota is kind and close friends with all of Blue Z. He is fiercely loyal to Blue Z, to the point that he continued leading Blue Z even after the rest of the Color Gangs disbanded.
Involvement[]
Yakuza/Yakuza Kiwami: 2005[]
Aota leads the Blue Z alongside the other Color Gangs, to attack Purgatory. Afterwards, Aota and a few Blue Z members head to the Children's Park to hang out, but are approached by Kazuma Kiryu. Aota orders his crew to attack Kiryu, but are defeated. Being asked where "Haruka" is, Aota states his gang is the weakest of the Color Gangs, and to ask the White Edge instead for an answer.
Yakuza 4: 2010[]
Kiryu runs into Aota and the remaining members of the Blue Z while they are mugging a woman in a Kamurocho alley. By this point, Aota has become fed up with the gang life and is ashamed that he is still a petty crook, but he feels obligated to continue leading the Blue Z since he does not want to abandon his friends. After getting a scolding and a second beating from Kiryu because of their actions, Aota airs his frustrations with his friends, who thank him for not having abandoned them and apologize for holding him back. The group decides to disband the Blue Z and work together to integrate into civilian life, which Kiryu approves of greatly.

Yakuza[]
Aota is an unusually acrobatic fighter, using a stun gun in combination with many kicks, but he has an extremely small moveset.
- A rush combo consisting of a charged spinning left backfist, a spinning left axe kick and a taser lunge.
- A second rush combo consisting of a taser lunge and a left spinning heel kick.
Aota's moveset is reused by Coliseum fighter Prisoner Machine No.4 in the same game.
Yakuza 4[]
Aota uses the generic knife moveset.
Yakuza Kiwami[]
Aota's attacks are recycled from several different characters throughout the franchise, and his stance is taken from Tatsuo Shinada's knife moveset. His attacks are listed as follows:
- Shinada's knife combo,
- Shinada's knife heavy attack,
- Goro Majima's flying thrust from Yakuza 4 and 5,
- Majima's running thrust from Yakuza 3-5,
- Homare Nishitani's counterattack, and
- a slower version of Shigeki Baba's downed attack.
His rejuvenation state correlates to Kiryu's Brawler style.

- Aota's name is spelled with the kanji "青", which means "blue," a clear reference to his gang's predominant clothing color.
