Café Alps (喫茶アルプス, Kissa Arupusu) is a cafe that appears throughout the Yakuza series.

Throughout the series, Café Alps Kamurocho is located on Nakamichi Street, south of the Nakamichi crossroads and on the west side of the street.

History[]

The Kamurocho flagship store was established in 1971. The Tsukimino and Kineicho branches were opened in 2012. As of late 2018, the Kamurocho cafe is still in operation.

Yakuza 0[]

Kiryu's first job as part of Tachibana Real Estate starts here. This is also where he meets Yamanoi, a major character in the Real Estate Royale sidestory.

Yakuza 5[]

Cafe Alps has gone through a huge expansion in Tsukimino and Kineicho. When Kiryu returns to Kamurocho in the final part of the game, he overhears that the Kamurocho manager bit off far more than he can chew. Kiryu enlists the help of Tatsuya Kawagoe for a new menu item. Unbeknownst to Kiryu, he has already made new menu items for the new branches in Tsukimino and Kineicho. Tatsuya claims to be too busy to help initially, but later manages to help with a new dish.

Yakuza 6[]

Kiryu, Nagumo and Yuta go there after they arrive at Kamurocho. Nagumo is impressed by how expensive food in Tokyo is.

Judgment[]

Café Alps expands its coffee line-up to include a wider range of beans, including the famous kopi luwak, a type of coffee extracted from the undigested beans from luwak (civet) excrement.

Trivia[]

In the original first two Yakuza games, which are set in December, the Christmas song "Jingle Bells" is played outside Cafe Alps.
There is a restaurant in Kamurocho's real-life equivalent Kabukichō called "Alps." Unlike many tie-in restaurants in the Yakuza series however, Café Alps does not appear to have a connection to this real-world eatery, as it is an izakaya rather than a European-style café.
