Dyna Chair (ダイナチェア, Dainachea) is an organization featured in Yakuza 5. It is a talent agency founded by Mirei Park.
History[]
At an unknown date after 1992, Dyna Chair was founded by Mirei Park in Sotenbori, shortly after the founding of Osaka Talent by Naoki Katsuya. Prior to this, Park had split off from Goro Majima in Tokyo and followed Katsuya to Sotenbori. In the ensuing years, Dyna Chair garnered many trainees, notably being Mai Sanada and Azusa Osawa which Park personally scouted.
A few years prior to 2012, Park placed Mai and Azusa in the custody of Osaka Talent, with the goal of generating hostility between Dyna Chair and Osaka Talent in order to attract attention.
At an unknown point, Misa Yamaura joined Dyna Chair as a vocal coach, and Hiroshi Horie joined as a general employee.
Yakuza 5: 2011-2012[]
Around June 2011, Mirei Park meets Haruka Sawamura in a bookstore in Downtown Ryukyu. Interested in taking on Haruka as talent, Park spends the next week researching her past as well Morning Glory Orphanage, the place she resides. In the process, Park uncovers the past of Morning Glory's proprietor, Kazuma Kiryu. Park sets up a meeting with Kiryu, and convinces him to allow Haruka's opportunity with Dyna Chair, with the promise that Haruka and Kiryu's past together is erased.
Later that year, Park obtains a loan of ¥300 million from Shun Akiyama, with the goal of funding Haruka's debut in the Japan Dome. Around June 2012, Park signs a one-year contract with Kan Ogita, introducing him into Dyna Chair with the purpose of preparing Haruka's dancing for the Princess League.[note 1]
By December 2012, Haruka is the only remaining talent at Dyna Chair, and she has made it to the finals of the Princess League. On the day of the first round of the Princess League finals, Hiroshi Horie is assigned as Haruka's manager. Later that day, Haruka and Horie head to Soten TV in order for Haruka to compete in the Princess League. While heading to greet the producer, Manda, Haruka is purposely tripped by Mai Sanada and Azusa Osawa of Osaka Talent's T-Set, causing Haruka to spill Manda's coffee. Later on, Horie grabs Mai's arm attempting to confront her, and she calls in her own manager, Nakai. With the two incidents having occurred, the hostile relationship between Dyna Chair and Osaka Talent is established, in line with Park's plans.
Later that night, a heated argument between Park and Ogita leads to Park's decision to terminate his contract. Subsequently, Park orders Haruka and Horie to find a new coach, specifically, a man named Christina. Haruka tracks down Christina soon after, and agrees to an impromptu audition. Impressed, Christina allows Haruka to lead him to Dyna Chair to discuss terms. Arriving at Dyna Chair, Christina states that he will start Haruka's lessons the next day.
Trivia[]
- In Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the two signs that previously displayed "Dyna Chair Entertainment Office" (ダイナチェア芸能事務所) now display "Private Law Office" (プライベーレ法律事務所).
- In Yakuza Kiwami 2, the signs display the exact same thing, making it unclear whether the sign has any relevance to Dyna Chair.
