Rising from the Shadows is the 15th substory in Yakuza Kiwami 2.
Plot[]
A haggard man hands Kiryu a Dirty Video near the Champion District. He urges Kiryu to watch it, then runs off. Kiryu goes to Fusion and watches the video. He sees a view of Children's Park and a scary-looking woman pops out. As Kiryu leaves Fusion, he is approached by a man. He tells Kiryu that he is a medium and he knows that Kiryu has been possessed by a spirit. He wants Kiryu to pay 100,000 yen for an exorcism. When Kiryu pays, the man says to meet him east of Senryo Avenue. The haggard man returns and lets Kiryu know that he believes he is now free of the curse. As Kiryu gets to the Senryo Avenue side-street, he sees the woman, who quickly runs away. The medium wants to hand Kiryu a stone that will prevent spirits from returning. The woman reappears behind Kiryu and this scares the medium off. He hands Kiryu the Exorcism Stone and then runs away. The ghost approaches Kiryu once more and then he drops the tape.

Plot[]
A haggard man hands Kiryu a "stained video" near the Champion District. He tells Kiryu to get rid of it and definitely never to watch it, then runs off. Kiryu goes to Fusion and watches the video. He sees a graveyard, then static, then a woman in a red dress in the graveyard, more static, and finally the woman's face close up. He does not know what to make of it. After he has watched it, the name of the "stained video" has ominously changed to "cursed video".
As Kiryu leaves Fusion, he is approached by a man. He tells Kiryu that he is a medium and he knows that Kiryu has been possessed by a spirit. He wants Kiryu to pay 100,000 yen for an exorcism. If Kiryu pays, this ends the mission, but it will not be marked as complete. If he refuses to pay, he will see the strange woman in the video on Taihei Boulevard East, half obscured by one of Shangri-La's pillars. She runs behind a car, and Kiryu follows. The woman has gone, but Kiryu finds a note on the ground, telling him to go to the backlot opposite Public Park 3.
When Kiryu gets here, he is set upon by a group of masked thugs. After Kiryu beats them, he unmasks one of the men, revealing that it was the "exorcist" from before. Kiryu says as much, but the Older Man tells Kiryu that he is an idiot for believing in such things. Kiryu tells him that they were very clever involving a woman in their scheme, but the man insists that there is no woman involved, and that he had simply heard there was a rich-looking guy heading towards this backlot. He gives Kiryu ¥100,000 as an apology.
