History

Shellac has been open since at least 1988.

Trivia

• The name Shellac comes from the fact that it is a music bar; the earliest types of records were made out of shellac.
• In Yakuza 0, the previous CD models on the walls were reshaped to give them the appearance of 12" vinyl sleeves.
• The use of the word "Scotch" to define the Yamazaki and Hakshu whiskies is incorrect, as a whiskey must be produced in Scotland in order to be called a Scotch.
• Shellac and Earth Angel do not support the continuous environment of the Dragon Engine, likely because the interiors are too large for the buildings in which they are situated.
• In later games, one of the songs played in Shellac is the background music to the Real Estate Royale menu.
