Jimmy Lo (吉米・郎, Jímǐ Láng/ジミー・ロウ, Jimī Rō) is a character featured in Yakuza 6. He is the heir and an officer of the Saio Triad.
Background[]
Jimmy Lo is the first legitimate child of Big Lo, the leader of the Saio Triad, a fearsome criminal organization from mainland China. Due to the code of "blood law" which the Saio abide by, Jimmy is the only person who can succeed his father as triad ringleader.
However, in reality Big Lo had fathered a second son as a morose "replacement heir" in the event that Jimmy died before he could succeed him. This replacement heir was sent to Japan as a baby and given forged Japanese identity papers so that he could live his life there without being aware of his true heritage. Jimmy was aware of his younger brother's existence but was unaware of his "purpose".
Involvement[]
Yakuza 6: 2016[]
Prior to 2015, Jimmy Lo tried to persuade his father to let him expand the Saio Triad's business into Japan. Big Lo refused because he wanted to keep his distance from the Chairman Heizo Iwami of the Yomei Alliance, to hide the fact that he did not know the secret of Onomichi, even though he threatened to blackmail him with it in the past. Despite this, Jimmy went over his father's head and made a secret deal with Chairman Iwami's son, Tsuneo Iwami, to expand into Tojo Clan territory with his financial backing.
While negotiating with Tsuneo, Jimmy unwittingly revealed that Big Lo did not know the true nature of the infamous "secret of Onomichi", which he'd used to blackmail Chairman Iwami into their business arrangement. Using this knowledge, Tsuneo in turn blackmailed Big Lo into expanding Saio operations into Tokyo despite Chairman Iwami's prohibition. Tsuneo forced the Saio into starting a war with the Tojo Clan, which then led to the arrest of the Tojo's leadership; opening up a chance for Tsuneo to replace them with his puppets.
Once the Saio had served their purpose, Tsuneo hired the Jingweon Mafia to assassinate both Lo's. However, the Jingweon assassins botched the job and only killed Jimmy during the hit. Enraged by his son's murder, Big Lo escalated the war against Tsuneo's puppets within the Tojo; sabotaging the young Iwami's plans to take over Tokyo.
