Kanemura Enterprises (金村興業, Kanemura-kōgyō) is a subsidiary of the Shibata Family and a third-tier Tojo Clan yakuza group that appears in Yakuza 4.
History[]
Kanemura Enterprises is a subsidiary of the Tojo Clan's Shibata Family operated by Hiroshi Kanemura. Kanemura Enterprises' offices are located next to the M Store on Shichifuku Street. They own Club Elnard, a hostess club. Shun Akiyama of Sky Finance lent Kanemura Enterprises money on the terms that Kanemura retires and Arai succeeds him.
Yakuza 4: 2010[]
In March, while visiting Kanemura's offices to collect on the loan, Akiyama learns of a disturbance being caused by members of the Ueno Seiwa Clan at Club Elnard. Wishing to spare his friend Arai from having to deal with the situation; which could lead to an escalation of tensions between the Ueno and the Tojo, Akiyama visited the Club and goaded the Ueno men, Masaru Ihara and Yutaka Mishima, into a fight. The moneylender easily won the brawl but, soon after, Arai would arrive on the scene as well, prompting Ihara to draw a gun and shoot him.
The gunshot would only graze Arai but, regardless, the Kanemura Captain pursued Ihara and killed him in retaliation. This murder would end up instigating a new conflict between the Tojo and the Ueno, for which Kanemura's parent family, the Shibata Family, would have to answer for. After the murder, Arai would go into hiding to avoid the many Shibata Family men who started patrolling the streets of Tokyo in search for him.
Kanemura Enterprises' business would be further disrupted the following night, when Patriarch Kanemura was murdered by Yasuko Saejima on orders from Isao Katsuragi of the Ueno Seiwa.
In reality, Ihara's murder had been part of a conspiracy orchestrated by Arai, Katsuragi and Kazuo Shibata to get the Tojo Clan to give the Ueno Seiwa participation in the Kamurocho Hills construction project as compensation for Ihara's death. The plot would eventually unravel due to the intervention of Akiyama, Taiga Saejima, Masayoshi Tanimura and Kazuma Kiryu, and Katsuragi and Shibata would end up dead, while Arai would end up in prison. Without any remaining leadership, Kanemura Enterprises eventually dissolves.
