Kurohyō: Ryū ga Gotoku Shinshō (クロヒョウ 龍が如く新章, lit "Black Panther: Like a Dragon New Chapter") is a spin-off game developed by Syn Sophia (formerly the AKI Corporation) and published by Sega exclusively for the PlayStation Portable in 2010. The game was announced on April 21, 2010 by Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, and is a spin-off from Sega's Yakuza series. A TV Drama adaption of the game aired from October 5 - December 21, 2010, on TBS. The controls and moves are similar to those in Def Jam: Fight for NY.


A sequel named Kurohyō 2: Ryū ga Gotoku Ashura hen (クロヒョウ2 龍が如く 阿修羅編 lit. "Black Panther 2: Like a Dragon Ashura Chapter") was announced for PSP by Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi in Weekly Famitsu. It was released in Japan on March 22, 2012.


This story involves in a 19 years old man named Tatsuya Ukyo, who was a normal street punk and dropped out of school because of his cold-blooded behavior. After he caused an incident by murdering a member of the Tojo Clan, he was forced to fight for his life in an underground fighting tournament called "Dragon Heat." In order to survive he must win 10 battles, if he wins he gets to go free, but if he loses his kidnappers will send the video footage to the police or worse, he will die. While he fights his opponents and keeps winning, Tatsuya soon learns of the strange things happening in Kamurocho city, and begins to question himself. What will he learn in time, and will he be free or find true hell?
