Mamoru Takabe (高部 守, Takabe Mamoru) is a supporting character featured in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. He is the former captain and current chairman of the Seiryu Clan.

Takabe has a medium build and slicked-back hair.
Attire[]
Takabe wears a three-piece navy blue pinstriped suit over white shirt and maroon tie, a pair of black leather gloves, and a pair of black leather shoes.
He also wears prescription glasses with polarized/tinted lenses.
Personality[]
Takabe appears to look calm and serious, but he also shows a reckless tendency, which was shown when he headed to Yokohama Liumang's hideout by a truck with the other members of the Seiryu Clan without the permission of chairman Hoshino, after knowing that the two young members of the Seiryu Clan were shot dead by the members of the Liumang and wanted to avenge for their deaths.
Background[]
Takabe had formed a rivalry with his superior, Yamato Totsuka, and was forced to cut off two of his fingers due to the latter's actions. However, Takabe eventually surpassed Totsuka in rank as captain of the Seiryu Clan.
Involvement[]
Yakuza: Like a Dragon: 2019[]
Takabe first appears during Ichiban Kasuga's meeting with Chairman Ryuhei Hoshino regarding Yamato Totsuka's business dealings at Sunlight Castle. He tells Totsuka, who appears to have been ordered to cut off a finger, to consider wrapping the finger with twine to dull the pain.
Later, Takabe contacts Kasuga and requests he meet him at Sunlight Castle. There, they meet with Nanoha Mukoda, the woman whose father Kasuga had infiltrated the facility to rescue from Totsuka. Takabe tells Nanoha that Sunlight Castle would be closing down, and all payments she had made to the facility would be refunded, though her father could continue to stay on site while she arranged for alternative accommodations.
After Akira Mabuchi begins his plans to start a war between the Yokohama Liumang and the Seiryu Clan, Takabe takes the bait and takes several men to assault the Liumang's base of operations on Restaurant Row, angered in particular by Mabuchi's killing of two young Seiryu men in public. When Kasuga and his friends arrive to stop Takabe, he is unwilling to listen due to his anger, and a fight breaks out.
When Takabe is defeated, Tianyou Zhao appears and holds Takabe at gunpoint while demanding an explanation from Kasuga regarding the video Mabuchi shot of them seemingly admitting to be Seiryu Clan and targeting the Liumang. Takabe is then kept as a "guest" of the Liumang while Kasuga and his friends go to the Geomijul to find proof of Mabuchi's action, but is released after Mabuchi's betrayal is proven. Mabuchi's betrayal and leaking of information causes the Seiryu Clan to have an internal rebellion, which Takabe quells.
Some time later, Kasuga finds Takabe in the Seiryu Clan HQ, having been shot in the chest and leg by a member of the Tokyo Omi Alliance. He warns Kasuga that the Omi were planning on attacking and killing Hoshino and pleads with them to save his chairman. After Hoshino's death, Takabe succeeds him as the patriarch of the Seiryu Clan.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth: 2023[]
Having been imprisoned for a subordinate's crime around 2021, Takabe is left comatose after being stabbed by an assailant right before the Seiryu Clan officially dissolves.
