The Matsugane Family (松金組, Matsugane-gumi) is a yakuza group featured in Judgment. They are a subsidiary of an unnamed family of the Tojo Clan.
History[]
The family's headquarters were located at the Matsugane Family Office on Shichifuku Street East. The family had existed for at least 20 years, although no mention of it was made in previous Yakuza games. Their founder and patriarch was Mitsugu Matsugane and their captain was Kyohei Hamura.
Judgment[]
While Patriarch Mitsugu Matsugane is the official leader of the family, Captain Kyohei Hamura has far more support from most of the family, due to making significantly more money than the former.
During the burning of Honmaruen, Matsugane is shot and killed by the Mole. Following this night, Hamura goes back into hiding, leaving the family without any proper form of leadership.
A funeral for Matsugane is held in the Tojo Clan Headquarters with people such as Takayuki Yagami and Ryuzo Genda attending.
After the death of Patriarch Matsugane, Kengo attempts to helm the family in the absence of Hamura, however is quickly brought down by Yagami and Higashi. During this time, many members of the family made attempts to keep the family running, however without a proper structure or leader, the family eventually dissolves.

Trivia[]
- None of the Matsugane Family are known to have a tattoo. Kaito is shown to not have one, and Hamura would not have been able to enter Sauna Goten with one.
