Mikio Aragaki (新垣 幹夫, Aragaki Mikio) is a supporting character featured in Yakuza 3. He is a member of the Ryudo Family.
Profile[]
Appearance[]
Mikio has an obese build, and judging by his black eyebrows, has his hair dyed blond.
Attire[]
Mikio wears a purple polo shirt, purple pants and a pair of grey shoes. On the shirt is a logo with an anchor and the phrase "only a saint's world is hell."
Personality[]
Though a rookie member of the Ryudo Family, Mikio is a well-respected person among locals. He is also a loyal ally to Kiryu, as he tries to protect Morning Glory Orphanage, and accompanied the kids when they were distressed. He is also good with kids, apparent from his friendship with the Morning Glory kids, especially Izumi. He appears to have a troubled relationship with his father, who disapproves of his status as a yakuza.
Mikio is depicted as a skilled carpenter, being able to construct a dog's house for Izumi's pet dog Mame. He also has a great appetite as he likes to take free samples of food.
Background[]
Mikio hails from a family that is famous for owning a restaurant in Okinawa. According to Nakahara's accounts, Mikio had a tough childhood (presumably due to his strict father), as he told Kiryu that young Mikio had to run away from his father to socialize. Mikio grew up watching Nakahara's activities as a yakuza and later joined the family out of admiration for him and Rikiya.
Involvement[]
Yakuza 3: 2008-2009[]
Mikio is sent to Morning Glory Orphanage along with Rikiya to hand an eviction note to Kazuma Kiryu and to watch the orphanage for a while. Initially, he is hostile to Kiryu, but later become one of his allies.
While both Kiryu and Rikiya are in Kamurocho, he is supervising Haruka Sawamura and the rest of the children at Morning Glory Orphanage.
When Yoshitaka Mine and Tetsuo Tamashiro arrive with an army to demolish the Orphanage, Tamashiro shoots both Mikio and Rikiya in the legs. That did not stop Mikio from attempting to prevent one of Tamashiro's foot soldiers from destroying Mame's doghouse. He is severely injured and battered with a sledge preventing it from happening, yet still fails to save the doghouse. Mikio nearly dies from the attack, but after being rushed to the hospital, he is able to pull through.
During the epilogue, he is shown in the orphanage alongside Izumi, wondering why Mame refuses to go inside the newly built doghouse.
