Munan Suzuki (ムナンチョ・鈴木, Munancho Suzuki) is a recurring character in the Like a Dragon series first. featured in Yakuza 0. He is the first Guru of the Order of Munan Chohept Onast.

Yakuza 0: 1988[]

Suzuki runs a cult that aims to brainwash his disciples into giving up their worldly possessions (mostly money). Goro Majima, is tasked with finding Iori - who has joined the order - for her distraught mother. He is exposed as a fraud, and after his defeat, he asks for his disciples to call for an ambulance; they instead perform the Ritual of Healing, to his displeasure.
Yakuza 6: 2016[]

Suzuki has been released from prison after the events of Yakuza 0 and now lives in Onomichi.
He finds out that Mie, his friend, and crush, is now a member of Order of Munan Chohept Onast, which, to his surprise, has expanded to Onomichi.
He asks Kiryu to infiltrate the order with him, and the two join the order together.
Suzuki asks to meet the current leader of the order, Munan Akamatsu, and together with Kiryu he reveals to them that he is Munan Suzuki, the first leader, who now wishes for them to dissolve the order altogether. After exposing Akamatsu as a fraud, Kiryu intervenes and defeats the new leader. While laying on the floor in pain, Akamatsu demands his subordinates call for an ambulence, but like his predecesor, his followers instead perform the Ritual of Healing, much to his displeasure. Suzuki notes that this scene feels strangely familiar to him.
Afterwards, he admits to Kiryu that he considered restarting the cult himself but decided to instead forsake it due to having met Mie, whom he considers both a friend and admits to having romantic feelings for.
Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth: 2023[]
Suzuki is now the owner of an online social media channel dedicated to teaching people the dangers of cults by explaining and demonstrating how cult leaders operate.
During one of his demonstrations, a group of thugs approaches Suzuki, stating how Suzuki will always be a criminal cult leader due to his past actions, but Kiryu, who is passing by, defends him due to Suzuki's clear willingness to repent for his past crimes. Upon defeating the thugs, Suzuki recognizes Kiryu, but the latter refuses to elaborate on his identity due to his contract. Suzuki persists, and hears Kiryu utter the same words he said the last time they parted. Satisfied after recognizing those words, Suzuki thanks Kiryu for his intervention.
