Pocket Circuit Stadium interior

Pocket Circuit Racing is a mini-game introduced in Yakuza 0 and featured in Yakuza Kiwami.

The player can play the mini-game at the Pocket Circuit Stadium located on Shichifuku Street West in Kamurocho.

Gameplay

The player races against other racers with Pocket Circuit cars on a race track in their own lanes. To win, the player needs to be the first one to reach the finish line after eight or more laps. While racing, the player can choose to give their car a boost which will greatly increase the speed of the car for a few seconds but will give it a higher chance of flying off the track and it's limited. If the player's car is about to fly off the track, flip over, or starts to slow down, there will be a prompt for the player to quickly tap the symbol on their controller/keyboard matching the one shown on-screen in order to correct the car.

The player can choose to customize their own Pocket Circuit cars with various parts such as tires, gears, and others as well as change the color of the body and tires of the car. The player can choose to do a test run with their car at any time.

Trivia

  • In Yakuza 0, if the player plays as Goro Majima and attempts to play the mini-game, Majima will refuse to enter the stadium and state that it's for kids and not his thing. Despite this, in Yakuza Kiwami's Majima Everywhere system, Majima begins to take racing against the player seriously and goes as far as to make his own custom car and race track.
