Sango Amon (亜門 三吾, Amon Sango) is a recurring secret character in the Yakuza series. He is one of the Amon superbosses in Yakuza 2/Yakuza Kiwami 2, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5.

Profile[]

Appearance[]

Sango Amon has long sideburns with a tall and muscular build. In Yakuza 2, he has dark brown slicked-back hair with an undercut.

Attire[]

Sango wears a wide brimmed black hat with a large hat band, black lensed silver frame aviator sunglasses, a black button down shirt, black slacks, black leather oxfords, and a black carcoat style overcoat. In Yakuza 2, his shirt is buttoned all the way up, rather than having the top button unbuttoned. He lacks his hat, and he does not wear sunglasses.

Personality[]

Sango is a cold-hearted and cruel man who puts the needs of the Amon clan above all else, refusing to tell his victims who hired him. He takes a liking to Kazuma Kiryu after being defeated by him and joins Majima Construction while telling him that another Amon will take the kill. Little else is known about his personality, though he excuses Kiryu for not being able to bring Masayoshi Tanimura to a showdown in Yakuza 5, as he trusts that the new ally they brought would be a worthy challenger. Before his fight with Tanimura, he talks down to him, calling him a cocky little brat.

Background[]

Sango Amon is an apprentice of Jo Amon and the youngest of the Amon brothers.

Involvement[]

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth: 2023[]

Fighting Style[]

Throughout all of his appearances, Sango seems to be the most skilled in armed combat, using rocket launchers, submachine guns, pole weapons, one handed weapons, explosive umbrella magical projectiles, and magical fireball projectiles.

Yakuza 2[]

Sango utilizes a rocket launcher as his weapon. His attacks consist of a close range two-handed swing of his rocket launcher with a wind-up that makes it fairly easy to dodge, and a slow and predictable but powerful shot from his rocket launcher, which is telegraphed by him taking a knee and putting the rocket launcher on his shoulder.

Yakuza 4[]

Sango wields a submachine gun as his weapon, making use of a combination of Majima and Arase's movesets. He can do Arase's evasive pirouette shot, Arase's rolling shot, and a rapid-fire shot, which is telegraphed by him holding the SMG with both hands and visibly bracing.

Once his yellow health bar is depleted, he enters Heat mode, pulls out another SMG and starts dual-wielding the guns. In this stage, he uses more moves: Richardson's right roundhouse kick-left gunshot combo, Richardson's left reverse roundhouse kick-right gunshot combo, a double jump kick immediately followed by Akiyama's Sliding Reversal, Tanimura's parry, Richardson's backflip kick followed by a double shot, and Majima's hypersonic spinning attack, but while shooting his SMGs instead of using a knife like Majima does. If Tanimura is down, he will do Majima's downed attack, a jumping stomp.

Yakuza 5[]

Sango begins the fight unarmed before immediately pulling out a silver pole with a blue handle and a penguin on the end, and utilizing Shinada's pole moveset. After he loses enough health to be halfway through his light blue health bar, he pulls out a rainbow umbrella and utilizes it as a one handed weapon, using Shinada's one-handed weapon moveset that he uses with his Sturdy Pipe. He uses a knockback if attacked while blocking, and attacks that land with his umbrella will cause explosions and deal high damage. After he loses enough health to be approximately halfway through his yellow health bar, he will begin fighting similarly to Tendo, floating in the air with his arms behind his back and utilizing magical attacks. He can dodge great distances quickly, utilize a flaming spinning uppercut, use a triple fireball projectile toss combo, and summon many rainbow umbrellas that will float in the air before homing in on Shinada's location and launching themselves quickly at him, dealing high damage and exploding like fireworks upon impact, though it is telegraphed by him meditating in place before raising his arms.

Yakuza Kiwami 2[]

In Yakuza Kiwami 2, he once again wields a rocket launcher, and utilizes Jun Oda's moveset. He is able to immediately fire a rocket after a quickstep or roll, as well as a shot from his rocket launcher that is telegraphed by him placing it on his shoulder and looking through the scope. He eventually gains a transparent red shield that will block Heat Actions that will eventually disappear. When he enters Heat mode after losing enough health, his attacks will do more damage, his rocket launcher can fire multiple rockets at once, and he will glow with a red aura.

Sango is the only member of the Amon Clan to utilize weapons in all his appearances.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth[]

In Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, he has dual pistols and uses moves from Bryce Fairchild, and uses Daigo Dojima’s flying knee.
