Tetsuo Nikaido (二階堂 哲雄, Nikaidō Tetsuo) is the main antagonist of Yakuza: Dead Souls. The former 3rd Patriarch of the Omi Alliance's Go-Ryu Clan, he allied with DD to destroy Kamurocho using Thanatos.

Appearance[]
Nikaido's face is modeled after his voice actor, Koji MatobaWP. He is a man of average height and build, who has black, spiky hair and a goatee. After being infected with Thanatos, large clusters of dark-red veins become visible on the sides of his face and brow, and his eyes glow crimson red. His hands and feet have also mutated into large claws. In his final form, Oikazuchi Omega, Nikaido takes on the appearance of a towering, skinless, humanoid monster with large claws, fangs, and crimson red eyes. It has several giant, spiky bones covering its midsection.
Attire[]
Nikaido wears a dark-grey suit with a Mandarin-style, stand-collar jacket, and a light grey dress shirt underneath. He also wears a black leather belt and brown, cap-toe, oxford dress shoes.
Personality[]
Nikaido is obsessed with taking revenge on Kazuma Kiryu for what he had done to Ryuji Goda. This blind pursuit of vengeance ends up consuming him to the point of neglecting responsibility for the damage he is inflicting onto others, even on Ryuji himself.

Yakuza: Dead Souls: 2011[]
Nikaido is the new head of the Go-Ryu clan that has idolized Ryuji Goda for years. He desperately wants Ryuji to return as the rest of the clan is "helpless".
He is known by people outside the Omi Alliance as the person who gets things done. His relationship with Ryuji can be seen as an extreme parallel of Daigo Dojima and Kazuma Kiryu's relationship, where he respects Ryuji so much, he wants to reinstate him into the Omi Alliance instead of managing on without him.
To this end, he recruits a mysterious man called DD to help lure both Kiryu and Ryuji back to Kamurocho, as well as destroy the Tojo Clan by the use of a new substance called "Thanatos" that turns people into zombies. When Hiroshi Hayashi gets wind of the fact that they are planning something, he confronts DD in their office. While they are talking, Nikaido comes in and shoots Hayashi, saying how rude it is of him to ask about another man's business. This is when DD injects Hayashi with Thanatos, turning him into the first zombie.
Near the end of the game, Nikaido tells Kiryu that he is holding Haruka at the top of the Millennium Tower in order to lure him and Ryuji up there. When they get there, they find Nikaido, along with Haruka and DD. Nikaido tells Ryuji that having looked up to him for all these years, he had now surpassed him by doing what Ryuji had failed to do, destroying the Tojo Clan.
After Kiryu and Ryuji defeat the ultimate Arahabaki prototypes "Kinro" and "Ginro", Nikaido tells Ryuji that he does not care if he dies, and never has: after all he laid his life on the line for years serving under Ryuji in the Go-Ryu clan. Suddenly, DD tells Nikaido that he has an ace up his sleeve. Just as Nikaido denies this, DD betrays and shoots him with the tranquillizer gun, saying that he has just received a new, enhanced batch of Thanatos. He then pulls out a revolver and shoots Nikaido in the head. This transforms him into a monster that Kiryu and Ryuji must defeat.
Despite having his body riddled with bullets, he grows into a gigantic monster who bursts out of the roof of the tower, called Oikazuchi Omega (完全体 オオイカヅチ, Kanzen-tai Ōikazuchi). Thanks to the equipment provided by Misuzu Asagi via helicopter, Kiryu manages to kill him.
Fighting Style[]
In his first mutation, he can use Andre Richardson's multi-directional shooting attack, the difference being that while Richardson uses two guns, Nikaido shoots red-coloured energy balls out of his hands. If the player is close enough Nikaido will execute a claw combo ending with a kick. After his green health bar has been depleted, his body bursts into multiple pools of blood from which red humanoids can rise to attack Kiryu and Ryuji, while Nikaido's heart remains suspended in mid-air.
Once he becomes Oikazuchi Omega, with his body confined within the Tower, his moveset consists of a right-hand sweep, a left-hand sweep, a double fist slam and a triple right-fist slam.
