Yamato Totsuka (戸塚 大和; Totsuka Yamato) is a minor antagonist in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. He is the chief of headquarters for the Seiryu Clan, as well as the director of a retirement home called Sunshine Castle.

Profile[edit | edit source]

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Totsuka has a medium build and slicked-back hair. He wears a pin-striped grey suit with a gilded red tie.

Attire[edit | edit source]

He wears a pinstriped black suit over white shirt and printed red tie, a pair of matching pants, and a pair of black leather shoes.

Personality[edit | edit source]

While Totsuka puts on a friendly, caring facade for the families of the elderly residents of his retirement home, he is in truth a ruthless conman who regularly murders the wealthiest residents in his facility and continues to cash in their pensions post-mortem in order to earn more money. Totsuka rationalizes his crimes by insisting that he is merely "euthanizing" these elderly residents and that he's doing the country a favor by disposing of unproductive members of its aging population.

Totsuka appears in Chapter 4, where he's seen talking with Nanoha Mukoda at Pocket Cafe before being tailed by Ichiban's party to Sunshine Castle, a retirement home that he runs. Under the recommendation of Kanbe, the director of Hello Work, the party managed to secure a second job at Sunshine Castle, hoping to gain more information about Nanoha's father, whose currently under the retirement home's care in their "Excellent Area", the supposedly top tier service that Sunshine Castle offers, which commends exorbitant rates that Nanoha has to bear.

During Ichiban's party second day at work, the party meet him again, now as a boss. Upon defeating him, Ichiban's party revealed that the retirement home is a front for extortion scam, as their "Excellent Area" (the area where Nanoha's father is admitted) charges exorbitant fees while silently euthanizes elderly civilians, allowing him to extort the patient's retirement fund well after their deaths without their guardian's knowledge.
