Yutaka Ogikubo (荻久保 豊, Ogikubo Yutaka) is a character featured in Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. He is the former chairman of the Citizens' Liberal Party and an officer of the Daidoji Faction.

Background[]
A career politician with connections to the criminal underworld, one such connection being the Daidoji Faction, Ogikubo's political career stretches as far as the 1950s, when he was still a member of the city council.[note 3] At that point, Yokohama's criminal underworld was nearly torn apart by the ongoing turf war between the Seiryu Clan and the Yokohama Liumang.
in 1960, in a bid to prevent a full-scale war between the two factions, Ogikubo offered a business proposition: counterfeiting operations controlled by the Liumang and the Seiryu Clan, which was agreed by both factions, and Ogikubo used his connections to obtain the method of money production. The scheme allows the Liumang to import the materials, while the Seiryu is in charge of the bills' production. It managed to keep both factions at peace, as well as making Ogikubo, the Seiryu Clan, and the Yokohama Liumang incredibly wealthy.
Ogikubo used this wealth to bribe the police into doing his bidding, making them crack down on crime in specific places. He was also able to use this money to rise in the ranks of the Citizens' Liberal Party, and never had any scandals. When the Geomijul was established in Ijincho, production of the counterfeit bills was passed over to them. In 2010, he insulted Ryo Aoki after he asked for the party's endorsement following his victory in assemblyman election.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon: 2019[]
As of 2019, Ogikubo is the oldest member of the CLP. His political career has risen considerably and he is now the Party Chair of Citizens' Liberal Party. Yu Nanba discovers Ogikubo's counterfeiting operation and divulges the details to Bleach Japan. This in turn causes them to use the Omi Alliance to launch an assault against the Geomijul to reach the machine. Seonhee asks Ogikubo for how to proceed, and he tells her to halt the operation and dispose of evidence.
He suddenly falls ill, effectively putting an end to his political career and causing him to retire. Aoki pays him a visit and lets him know that Kanagawa District Two will have a Bleach Japan candidate run for it with the CLP's endorsement. He also states he will undo Ogikubo's work of providing a safe haven for people who have lost their place in society and fell into gray zones, causing his heart rate to accelerate.

- ↑ Ogikubo was 78 when Shoichi's draft article was written, which was at least six months prior to the events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Because it is never clarified how old the article is when Saeko viewed it, it is possible Ogikubo is older than 78 during the game's events.
- ↑ The given height of 160 cm (5′ 3″) is based on the character model's scaling factor within Yakuza: Like a Dragon's data.[2] For Dragon Engine games, this method is believed to be very accurate (±2 cm). However, this is intended as an estimate, not a substitute for an official statistic.
